On November 26, 2011. 14 years ago The Winetastic Weekend poured into
existence—an outlet for sharing amazing moments and recommendations from our
wine adventures. What began as a casual experiment, capturing memories and
weekend wine escapades onto a blog, blossomed into a journey filled with
delightful connections, wine discoveries, and the enduring joy of
storytelling.

Things have been quiet over the past 10 years, with marriage, school,
kiddos and relocating a few times, but here we are still loving wine and
sharing our passion with others.

Pouring into a New Chapter: Wine Scholars
As the spirit and enthusiasm of The WineTastic Weekend lives on intrinsically, the way we experience wine is taking on a new look. I’m thrilled to announce what’s next:
Introducing Wine Scholars — a monthly blind-tasting group I now lead in charming Carmel, California. Imagine a cozy tasting room, a dozen curious minds, and bottles hidden from view—each session guided by curiosity, friendly debate, and a dash of rivalry: “Is this Cabernet or Merlot and is it from from Napa or Bordeaux?” (Spoiler: sometimes we’re surprised.) We explore varietals, decode tasting notes, and in doing so strengthen our community—as the original blog sought to do.
This isn’t just another tasting night. It’s the evolution of What started on a blog, now unfolding in person: enriching palates, shaping friendships, and deepening appreciation—not only for wine but for stories shared over glasses.
Raise Your Glass
Thank you—to every enthusiast along the way, beautiful venue that inspired,
bottle of wine that delighted, and dinner guest that indulged. Without you,
there’s no The WineTastic Weekend, no Wine Scholars group, and no wine
stories. As I look through all the memories collected, I’m filled with
gratitude for the past 14 years and excitement for what’s next.
If you love wine, community, and a good blind taste challenge, reach out. The next chapter is underway, and seats are open.
Here’s to wine, friendship, and the stories we’ll pour next. Cheers!
